Not as buggy but still beautiful milkweed varieties that are widely available:
Butterfly weed: Orange flowers, more compact and suited to perennial gardens and smaller home landscapes.
Swamp milkweed: Pink flowers, taller clumps, more adapted to varied growing conditions, can take wetter soil.
