LEMON-BERRY MARGARITA
Serves 2.
• Kosher salt, for the glass
• 4 oz. (1/2 c.) tequila
• 2 oz. (1/4 c.) orange liqueur (such as triple sec)
• Juice of 2 lemons
• 21/2 tbsp. honey
• 1/2 c. fresh berries
• 2 c. ice cubes
Directions
Pour the salt in a shallow bowl. Set aside.
In a blender, combine the tequila, orange liqueur, lemon juice and honey. Purée until frothy.
Overturn the serving glasses and dip the rims in the blender to wet just the top 1/2 inch. Dip the wet rims in the bowl of salt and twist until coated. Set aside.
Add the berries and ice to the blender. Purée until chunky smooth, then pour into the prepared glasses.

CRANBERRY SLUSH MARGARITA

• 6 oz. (3/4 c.) tequila
• 6 oz. (3/4 c.) orange liqueur (such as triple sec)
• 1 c. (8 oz.) unsweetened cranberry juice
•1/2 c. honey
• Pinch salt
• Ice cubes
Directions
In a blender, combine the tequila, orange liqueur, cranberry juice, honey and salt. Add enough ice to fill the blender about 2/3 full. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

• 2 c. cut-up honeydew melon

Directions

• 1 c. pineapple juice
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
•1/4 c. frozen orange juice concentrate
• Juice of 2 limes
•1/4 c. honey
• 6 oz. (3/4 c.) tequila
• Pinch salt
• 11/2 c. ice
Directions
In a blender, combine the pineapple chunks and juice, vanilla, orange juice concentrate, lime juice, honey, tequila, salt and ice. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

CUCUMBER JALAPEÑO MARGARITA
Serves 1.
Who says a margarita has to be sweet? This offers a little spice, from Border Grill, Las Vegas, as reported by the Tribune Media Services.
• 6 slices peeled cucumber
• 2 to 3 thin slices of jalapeño, to taste
• 1 oz. (1/8 c.) freshly squeezed lime juice
• 1 heaping tsp. sugar
• Ice
• 11/2 oz. (3 tbsp.) tequila (reposado is preferred)
• 3/4 oz. (11/2 tbsp.) orange liqueur
• 1 cucumber slice
Directions
In a cocktail shaker, combine the cucumber, jalapeño, lime juice and sugar.
Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, mash the cucumber and jalapeño until they start to break up and release their juices and oils.
Fill the shaker with ice. Add the tequila and orange liqueur. Place a mixing glass over the cocktail shaker, hold together firmly and shake back and forth 10 times to combine. Strain into a rocks glass, fill with ice and garnish with the cucumber slice.
