LeBron joins Twitter, tweets nothing, gains 64K (and growing) followers

The age in which we live.

LeBron James joined Twitter today. It became highly publicized about three hours ago, when Chris Paul tweeted about it. It has since been confirmed that it is really LeBron's account. He has not tweeted a single word yet. But every time we refresh the page, which is about once a minute, he has another 300 or so followers. The screen grab was from 1:46 p.m; as of 1:51, he was at 65,915 followers. At this rate, he will surpass CP3's follower total (122K) sometime today. Our best guess, using maths and the acceleration of such things, is that he could have more than 1 million followers before he decides what team he is going to join.

At this point, would it really surprise anyone if LeBron broke the news about whatever team is joining via Twitter?

For now: please speculate in the comments about what LeBron's first tweet will say and when it will come. We'll take 6 p.m. tonight, with some sort of benign shout-out like, "Thanks to all my followers! Where will I wind up. Stay tuned ..."
