LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo again named captains for NBA All-Star Game

It'll be an All-Star rematch: Team LeBron vs. Team Giannis.

LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks will be the captains for the NBA All-Star Game, just like last season.

They earned those roles by being the top overall vote-getters from the Western and Eastern conferences, respectively.

The other starters for the Feb. 16 game in Chicago: Anthony Davis, Lakers; Kawhi Leonard, Clippers; Luka Doncic, Mavericks, James Harden, Rockets; Pascal Siakam, Raptors; Joel Embiid, 76ers; Kemba Walker, Celtics; and Trae Young, Hawks. James, as the leading vote-getter, will have the top pick when it comes to teammates.

The reserves will be announced Jan. 31, with NBA head coaches voting for those.

Notes

• The Hornets will play the Bucks on Friday at Bercy Arena in Paris. It will be the NBA's first regular-season game in France.

• Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson scored 17 points in a little over three minutes in the fourth quarter — and 22 overall — vs. the Spurs on Wednesday night in his pro debut. "I was happy to be out there …," he said, "but what was going through my mind was just, 'Be calm.' "

Thursday's results

Washington 124, Cleveland 112: Bradley Beal scored 36 points as the Wizards beat the Cavaliers even after arriving in Cleveland around 4 a.m. following an overtime defeat in Miami on Wednesday night.

L.A. Lakers 128, Brooklyn 113: LeBron James had 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists as the Lakers improved to 20-4 on the road. Kyrie Irving led the Nets with 20 points.
