Rainfall through early Friday is shown here. This has nothing to do withanother storm that may form along the East Coast this weekend. We'll get tothat later... First things first. The rain that spread into the central Atlantic region Wednesday is just apreview of things to come. Thursday, the storm will be centered just east ofNorth Carolina waiting for more energy to feed in from the west. That will comefrom the blob of moisture over the northern Plains that you might have noticedon our latest satellite or radar displays.

In any case, as the two storms join forces, a new area of moderate to heavyrain will blossom through the mid-Atlantic region Thursday. The rain area islikely to push into southern New England later Thursday and Thursday night. Thenorthern half of New England may not get much, if anything, out of this.
