Late-night fire totals paving business in Hugo

A fire late at night in Hugo left a paving business a total loss, and one firefighter was slightly hurt fighting the blaze.

Authorities were notified about 12:15 a.m. Sunday of the fire at Paragon Paving, located in the 5800 block of 165th Street N. in Hugo, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Hugo firefighters were assisted by personnel from numerous surrounding fire departments until the scene was pretty much cleared by 4:20 a.m., said Sheriff's Sgt. Brad Marquardt.

One Hugo firefighter suffered a minor injury, the Sheriff's Office said.

The structure has been deemed a total loss, a statement from the Sheriff's Office read.

Authorities have not released any details on how the fire began.
