A large ice chunk flew off a semi and smashed through a car's windshield Monday morning on Interstate 694 in Mahtomedi, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
The incident happened near Highway 36, causing minor injuries to the driver of the vehicle.
"It is your responsibility to clear your vehicle before hitting the road," the State Patrol said in a Facebook post following the accident.
Officers said the driver of the semi-truck was not cited, but the company has agreed to cover repair costs.
"If you see a vehicle or semi that is not cleared, increase your following distance and pay attention in case ice or snow flies off the vehicle," the State Patrol said.
