Lakeville South's Mosser is steeped in volleyball tradition

October 7, 2011 at 10:36PM

Lakeville South is one of the top Class 3A volleyball teams in the state, thanks in part to senior libero Allison Mosser. She also participates in track (hurdles and triple jump) for the Cougars in the spring.

The best movie I've seen in the past year? "Despicable Me" or "Tangled."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "By Your Side" by Tenth Avenue North, "Just a Kiss" by Lady Antebellum, "For the First Time" by The Script.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Easygoing (off the court), competitive (on the court), upbeat.

When did you start playing volleyball? Mom and most of her sisters played in high school and college, and my dad played on a club team in college. I've been doing clinics since I was in kindergarten and played Junior Olympics since fourth grade.

How do you balance school and sports? It's really tough at times, especially because I'm a huge procrastinator. I just know that when I get home from practice I have to get working on homework so I'm not up late every night.

Favorite meal before a match? My grandma's toasted ham and cheese sandwich.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? That it was more community involved and supported.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Minnesota Twins. I love watching them ... even if they were super frustrating this season.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
