Lacrosse in a nutshell

The sport of American Indian origins is played with a long-handled-stick and a rubber ball. Teams of players -- 10 for boys, 12 for girls -- attempt to throw a ball into the opposing team's net. U.S. Lacrosse describes it as a "combination of basketball, soccer and hockey," rewarding "coordination and agility, not brawn." It can be played outdoors and indoors, with the size of the field and team varying by league type.
