Add Randy Ready to the group of candidates the Twins are interested in to manage Class AAA Rochester.
Ready was fired as the Padres hitting coach in September but managed in the minors from 2002 until he was hired as the Padres hitting instructor in the middle of the 2009 season.
The Twins want someone who is experienced. Two of their top candidates include Jeff Cox and Ron Johnson, who have managed for several years in the minors before joining major league coaching staff.
The Twins have not contacted former Cubs manager Mike Quade yet, but intend to do so soon.
Jim Rantz, the Twins' director of minor leagues, said Tuesday that the Twins want to name a manager before Thanksgiving.
