My siblings who live in western Connecticut have bragging rights again...confound it! Yours truly had almost 3 inches of snow here in centralPennsylvania... Wow! Brother Joe who lives in Newtown, Conn., had 24 inches!Sister Sandy and sister Sue have yet to report in, but they probably gotsimilar amounts. This makes the third major snowstorm for western Connecticutsince late December.

Storms like this are fun to watch, no doubt. A little less fun though, when youhave get somewhere or shovel out.

Wednesday night, the worst of the storm will be in Maine and southern NewBrunswick though all but eastern Maine will be out of the heaviest snow towardmidnight. The northern side of Nova Scotia will also get up to a foot of snowfrom this storm.

In the wake of the storm, cold weather is going to continue the next couple ofdays, then temperatures will trend up a little bit over the weekend. There isstill no big January thaw coming, though. As a matter of fact, another brutalshot of arctic air will surge into the country during the second part of nextweek.

Also, there are signs of another winter storm impacting the Northeast earlynext week. That one may bring rain to the coast, however, with snow more likelythrough the interior Northeast.
