This tweet from Dave McMenamin of ESPNLA.com seemed too good to be true:
Kobe on the team's viewing of "Lincoln": "I don't know if the guys knew who he was ... It came as a big shock to them when he was killed"— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) December 7, 2012
And alas, it was:
For those not adept in the art of sarcasm, Kobe was joking about his teammates not knowing who Lincoln is— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) December 7, 2012
But at least there is this:
Dwight on "Lincoln": "It was long ... Steve (Nash) fell asleep at one point. He was snoring"— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) December 7, 2012
The big problem? About 15 minutes passed between the first tweet about Kobe and the tweet that he was joking. More than 1,700 people have retweeted the first one so far. About 50 have retweeted the second one. Ah, the best and worst of Twitter.
