Twin Cities Fox affiliate KMSP, Channel 9, was the big winner at last weekend's Midwest Regional Emmy Awards with 16 wins, but WCCO, Channel 4, took home two of the event's most prestigious awards.

CBS affiliate WCCO won in 13 categories, including overall station excellence and best news anchor, which went to Jeanette Trompeter. ABC affiliate KSTP, Channel 5, also took 13 Emmys. KARE, Channel 11, won 12 awards, but the NBC affiliate was consoled by winning for best evening newscast.

More than 100 awards were given out Sunday night at the Minneapolis Hyatt Regency, including nine for coverage of the Interstate 35W Bridge collapse. The Governors Award went to KMSP's "Girls & Science" program, an annual event designed to engage grade-schoolers in science.
The Star Tribune earned four Emmys for its online work.
