U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar rolled out legislaton Wednesday that would prohibit employers from coercing job applicants or current employees to provide access to their private online accounts, including Facebook, e-mail and other online systems. She and other Democratic senators introduced The Password Protection Act in response to news reports have highlighted instances around the country where employers have demanded the Facebook passwords of job applicants as part of the hiring process. "It's one thing for an employer to search the Web," she said. "It's another to be requiring passwords."
