CHICAGO — One day after adding two new players to their roster, the Twins have brought in three more. And they said goodbye — permanently, in one case — to a couple members of their bullpen.

Righthander Pat Dean has been recalled from Class AAA Rochester, the team announced Saturday afternoon, and righthanded reliever Brandon Kintzler will join him. In addition, infielder Jorge Polanco will return for his third stint with the Twins this season, replacing injured shortstop Eduardo Escobar, who suffered a groin strain in Friday's game.

Righthander Casey Fien was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers, the Twins announced, and is waiting to learn whether he'll join them in Toronto this weekend, Los Angeles next week, or perhaps be assigned to their Oklahoma City farm club. Meanwhile, lefthander Tommy Milone cleared waivers, the team said, and was outrighted to Rochester.

Dean is 1-3 with a 3.00 ERA this season for the Red Wings, after leading all of minor-league baseball last season with 179 inning pitched. The former third-round pick in 2010 will be making his major-league debut.

Kintzler is a veteran of six seasons with the Brewers, and was 4-1 with a 3.52 ERA at Rochester this spring.
