Mystic Lake Casino will set up a temporary amphitheater for concerts for the second consecutive summer but the capacity will be diminished by about 25 percent.

So there will be only 6,300 seats for concerts by Kid Rock on July 15, Heart and Joan Jett on June 29 and ventriloquist/comedian Jeff Dunham on Aug. 3.

Last year, Mystic Lake set up an amphitheater with 8,100 temporary seats for concerts by Jason Mraz, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson and others.

This year, the casino will probably limit the schedule to five shows and reexamine the idea of building a permanent amphitheater.

This Mystic Lake gig could be an "underplay" for Kid Rock, who sold out the State Fair grandstand (13,262 tickets) in his last local appearance in 2009. He did perform at the mammoth We Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn., in 2010. His Mystic ticket prices reflect his popularity — $69-$83. Tickets will go on sale May 3.

That's the same date that the Heart tickets, priced from $35 to $47, will go on sale. The Seattle rockers were originally scheduled to play indoors at the Myth in Maplewood that night.

Dunham tickets, priced from $27 to $48, will go on sale May 10.
