ARDEN HILLS

Facility: 65,000-seat stadium with a retractable roof

Cost: Just over $1 billion

Who pays: The Vikings would contribute $407 million; the state, $300 million; and Ramsey County, $350 million via a 0.5 percent county-wide sales tax hike.

Other factors: Officials estimate that $173 million would be needed for infrastructure work and environmental cleanup. The state says at least $175 million more might be needed for roadwork.

MINNEAPOLIS

Facility: Fixed-roof stadium at the Metrodome site

Cost: About $895 million

Who pays: The Vikings would contribute $400 million; the state, $300 million; and the city of Minneapolis, $195 million via a citywide 0.15 percent sales tax and a citywide extension of a downtown hotel, liquor and restaurant tax.

Other factors: Minneapolis would also finance a $95 million renovation of the Target Center and reduce property taxes by helping pay off the Target Center debt with other revenue sources.
