Vikings Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kevin Williams and his wife Tasha held an event at Children's Hospitals and Clinics in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

It's the second year in a row that Williams has visited the hospital and participated in a closed-circuit television show that is broadcast to each patient's room in both Children's Hospitals locations in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Pat Williams, Fred Evans, Freddie Brown and Victor Viking also took part in the show and then visited kids in their rooms.

"It's nice to come out and see the kids and put a smile on their face when they might be going through something tough," Kevin Williams said. "And it's good to get out of the house with the things we have going on. But mostly to see the kids and brighten up their day and have a good feeling."

Williams was asked what advice he gives the kids when he visits them. "Just hang in there," he said. "Each kid has their own different thing they're going through while they're here. Just hang in there and stay strong and there will be a brighter day. "The main thing is to try and brighten the kids' day. If there is anything you can do -- whether it's spend time with them, give them an autograph, take a picture – just anything to take their mind off some of the things they might be going through while they're in the hospital. That's my main thing." As far as the Vikings disappointing 3-6 record, Williams admitted the playoffs are a long shot at this point, saying his team has a "slight glimpse of a chance" and that they "almost have to be flawless now." "We can't sit there and dwell on the past," he said. "We've got to try and get better. We've got seven games left to do that. We can't go down any worse that we are right now. Got to keep pretty much upbeat and try and dig ourselves out of this. We've still got a slight glimpse of a chance. Another loss would be real bad for us as far as this season. We've got to try and put it together one game at a time. We can't look past Green Bay right now." Williams was asked his opinion on what's gone wrong with this team. "I don't know," he said. "A lot of talking and nobody playing. We can't sit here and talk about all the things that's going on, things that's went right. We just have to show up and play ball. That's the main thing. There's no need to sit here and talk about how good we could be and we're not and how good we are and we're not. We've just got to go play and correct the mistakes and do our job." Asked to evaluate his own play, Williams said: "It's not good enough. We're not winning. You've always got room to improve. That's the only way I can assess it."
