GAME RECAP

MVP

Jared Harper, Auburn

The junior guard scored 26 points, including 12 of Auburn's 17 points in OT. He was 11-for-11 from the free-throw line and also contributed four rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks.

Turning point

The #ChumaEffect. Auburn learned of injured teammate Chuma Okeke's impending arrival at halftime, and the second half was all Tigers. They went on a 12-4 run to start, taking the lead for the first time just before Okeke joined the team behind the bench in a wheelchair. Okeke, who tore his ACL Friday, initially was too hurt physically and emotionally to watch in person.

By the NUMBERS

2 Teams to beat Kansas, North Carolina and Kentucky — the three winningest teams in Division I — in the same NCAA tournament; the only other one to do so was Arizona in 1997.

37 Consecutive games John Calipari-coached teams had won in the NCAA tournament when leading at halftime, a streak that ended Sunday.

28 Points for Kentucky's PJ Washington, who also had 13 rebounds despite a sore foot that kept him sidelined last weekend.
