Good morning, commuters!

Rain has been a scarce commodity over the past few months, but we are getting some this morning. That could slow the drive to work just a bit.

Currently it's a crash on westbound Crosstown at Bloomington Avenue that is slowing traffic. It's off on the right shoulder.

Overnight road work has yet to lift on westbound 494 at 24th Avenue and eastbound 494 at Nicollet Avenue in Bloomington.

A reminder that the ramp from Maxwell Avenue in Newport to westbound 494 remains closed for repair. Perhaps that is why we've seen heavy traffic all week on northbound Hwy. 61.

I will keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
