Keeping tabs on Thursday's morning commute

Overnight road works is still in progress on I-494 through Plymouth and Maple Grove. The left lane is still closed at I-394 and approaching the Fish Lake Interchange as crews continue replacing guardrails. That work should be out of there by 7 a.m., according to MnDOT.

Good morning, commuters!

Overnight road works is still in progress on I-494 through Plymouth and Maple Grove. The left lane is still closed at I-394 and approaching the Fish Lake Interchange as crews continue replacing guardrails. That work should be out of there by 7 a.m., according to MnDOT.

Westbound 94 is back open at the Lowry Hill Tunnel after overnight work there wrapped up.

A stall partially blocking the ramp from westbound 94 to southbound 35W in Minneapolis is the only traffic hassle on the roads at this hour.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
