Good morning, commuters!

Safe to say that drivers in the south and east metro won't have as much trouble as those in the north and west metro where as much as 20 inches of snow fell and left roads in an absolute mess.

Still, roads are icy, snow packed and in difficult shape.

Already we have a list of crashes.

  • Westbound 694 at Central Avenue, a semi blocking part of the right lane and ramp
    • Westbound 94 at Hwy. 52 in downtown St. Paul. One lane is blocked
      • Northbound 35E in the vicinity of Hwy. 110. The left lane is blocked.
        • Westbound 494 at Maxwell Avenue in South St. Paul.

Sidwalks are in horrible shape, so watch your step on the way to the car in the driveway or on the walk to the bus stop.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
