Good morning, commuters!

When one lane opens another closes, at least that is the case on Hwy. 169 in Edina. Overnight MnDOT opened the southbound lanes between the Crosstown and Valley View Road. That closure had been in effect since spring for resurfacing and construction of a new bridge.

Commuters heading north, however, will find the highway closed at I-494. MnDOT will now begin work resurfacing and building a new overpass at the Crosstown on the nothbound side. This closure will be in effect until October.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
