Good morning, commuters!

Friday should be much tamer on the roads as Mother Nature has finally turned off the spigot. We still have patchy areas of fog and mist, but that should be the worst of things on the weather side of things.

From a traffic standpoint, we'll see how southbound I-35E holds up today. The freeway is down to two lanes from Hwy. 36 to Maryland Avenue as road work on the new MnPASS lane rolls on. Thursday traffic held up pretty well with no major snarls.

Roads along Minnehaha Creek remain under water, so expect closures. And a late evening mudslide near the U of M has West River Pkwy. from Franklin Ave to 4th Ave S. blocked.

Flooding has Jackson Street and Sibley Street between Kellogg Blvd. and Shepard Road under water. Use alternate routes.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
