The central and western Gulf of Mexico will be closely monitored byAccuWeather.com meteorologists for tropical development later this week. The combination of a decaying frontal boundary and a surge of moisture from atropical wave could lead to the formation of low pressure in the Gulf late thisweek.
If a low pressure circulation does form in the Gulf, it could quickly spin upinto a tropical depression or storm since the water is very warm and wind shearwill be low.
