Greetings from TCF Bank Stadium, where it is currently seven degrees below zero as players take the field for early warmups. Needless to say, there are fewer players out there today than usual.

They just released the inactives and there are no surprises as far as the Vikings are concerned. Nose tackle Linval Joseph will return to the lineup after missing the win over the Packers. Running back Adrian Peterson and defensive end Everson Griffen will also be in the starting lineup.

Wide receiver Charles Johnson is again a healthy scratch. Also inactive for the Vikings are quarterback Taylor Heinicke, outside linebacker Brandon Watts, nose tackle Kenrick Ellis, offensive linemen Nick Easton and Jeremiah Sirles, and defensive end Zach Moore.

The Seahawks are without running back Marshawn Lynch, who didn't make the trip to the Twin Cities. The visitors also scratched cornerback Tye Smith, linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis, guards Mark Glowinski and Kristjan Sokoli, tight end Luke Willson, and defensive tackle A.J. Francis.

Safety Kam Chancellor and left tackle Russell Okung are back in the lineup for the Seahawks, as is guard J.R. Sweezy.

Here is some pregame reading to keep you busy until the noon kickoff:

— Back in the postseason at age 30, Peterson doesn't want to go down as another great player without a playoff pedigree.

— Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater needs to pick up his play after he had one of the worst performances of his career last weekend.

— After allowing season highs in points and yards back in Week 14, Vikings defenders are actually happy to get another shot at the Seahawks.

— Bud Grant doesn't think the freezing weather will favor either team.

— I don't think the Vikings will win today, but this game should be closer.
