The Twins will need to add a fifth starting pitcher to their rotation for Saturday afternoon's game against the Boston Red Sox.

Will it be time for Jose Berrios to get another chance at sticking in the majors?

Berrios gave up only two hits in eight innings Sunday afternoon as Class AAA Rochester defeated Louisville 4-0. Berrios struck out seven and walked two batters -- and has a 1.09 ERA for his five starts in April for the Red Wings. For the month, Berrios gave up 18 hits and eight walks while striking out 35 batters in 33 innings.

Three of the four earned runs that he gave up came in one substandard start, while the others have been anywhere from good to excellent. Here's a look at the numbers.

The Twins have vowed not to rush Berrios to the majors -- and his excellent work at Rochester in 2016, a 10-5 record and 2.51 ERA, didn't translate into success when he was called up to Minnesota, where he went 3-7 with an 8.02 ERA in 14 starts.

Berrios was taken in the compensation phase at the end of the first round of the 2012 draft and has been touted for several years as a top prospect.

And the Twins have options for Saturday. Nick Tepesch was called up last Monday when the Twins needed an extra bullpen body after their weekend series against Detroit. He has yet to pitch for the Twins. Also, Adalberto Mejia, who started the season with the Twins and struggled, gave up only two hits and didn't walk anyone in seven shutout innings against Louisville on Friday.

Some of the roster shuffling will be influenced by the eventual return to the majors of utility infielder Ehire Adrianza, who is on a rehab assignment at Rochester and has gotten several starts in the outfield in addition to his usual middle infield positions. The return of Adrianza, who suffered a strained oblique muscle near the end of spring training, could mean the Twins will carry 12 pitchers instead of 13.
