SAN DIEGO — Adam Jones tied his career-high with four hits, including a home run, drove in two runs and scored twice against his hometown Padres as the Baltimore Orioles beat San Diego 4-1 Tuesday night.
Bud Norris won his second straight start since joining the Orioles, holding San Diego to one run and five hits in six innings.
Jones homered into the balcony on the second level of the Western Metal Supply Co. brick warehouse in the left field corner at Petco Park leading off the fourth off Edinson Volquez. It was his 23rd.
Jones singled in the first to bring in Nate McClouth, aboard on a leadoff double. He singled and scored on Chris Davis' double in the eighth.
Jones, who went to San Diego's Morse High, hit a two-run homer when the Orioles visited Petco Park in 2010.
Norris (8-9) struck out five and walked two.
Jim Johnson pitched the ninth for his 39th save, tops in the majors.
The Padres had three straight singles to open the sixth, including Yonder Alonso's RBI base hit that pulled San Diego to 2-1. Norris then retired the side on a strikeout, a fly ball and a popup, stranding runners at second and third.
