Breaking News: Congratulations to Michael Cuddyer and the Minnesota Twins for winning the $200,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project for the Courage Center's Rolling Twins Softball team. These amazing youth in wheelchairs no longer have to play ball in a parking lot, and it's all thanks to your online and text message votes!!

You can put it on the boaaaaaaaard... YES!

That game was intense. Delmon Young and Jim Thome made a Target Field walkoff win possible Tuesday night for a 7-6 victory in the series opener of a crucial three-game set, extending the Twins' American League Central lead to four games over the second-place Chicago White Sox.

The Twins crushed it early on, putting up four runs in the first inning. Then Scott Baker erased that lead by the fourth. What is up? Maybe he needs to ditch the goatee for a mustache. Your thoughts? (On his pitching, not his facial hair). We all know mustaches have nothing to do with talent... or do they? I'm looking at you, Carl Pavano.

I've also been hearing all kinds of Jon Rauch and Matt Capps-bashing around Twins Territory recently. Sure, you'd think two closers could combine for a 1-2-3 inning, but accidents happen. Right? Most of us miss Joe Nathan a lot, but I'm fairly certain he's not planning on attempting a left-handed comeback this season, so let's at least give Capps a shot before banishing him to the suck column.

These two teams will meet five more times this season, and I have a feeling the majority of those games will be just as wild as Tuesday night's. Wouldn't you rather watch a barn burner than a blowout, where catches like Jason Kubel's in the third mean that much more? Francisco Liriano will face Gavin Floyd for Game 2 Wednesday night at 7:10pm as the Twins look to move 20 games above .500.

Also, Justin Morneau was taking some cuts during early batting practice Tuesday, but since he's still experiencing post-concussion symptoms, there is no timetable for his return. Sad.

This link is just for old time's sake.

Of course, the MLB Advance Media Police have taken down the Youtube clip of Hawk Harrelson's in-depth analysis of Jim Jam's homer. In case you missed it, you can and should watch here.
