Jerry Bell, President of Twins Sports Inc., announced his retirement this morning during a staff meeting.

Bell joined the Twins after serving as executive director of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission and was with the club during its high and low points. He was often the face of the organization's stadium efforts through the years and was one of former owner Carl Pohlad's most trusted voices.

Bell will assist the club with special projects but is definitely scaling back his duties with the Twins.

He was named the third president of the Twins in 1987 - a position currently held by Dave St. Peter - and led the organization's business operations. In 2002, he was named president of Twins Sports Inc and focused most of his efforts on the design and construction of Target Field..
