Time stood still for just about everyone but fullback Jerome Felton with 13:37 left in the first half.

Wide receiver Charles Johnson fumbled in the end zone on a 22-yard reception while trying to score. With five players in the immediate area of the loose ball, Felton was the first to react from five yards out to snag the ball and score his first career touchdown.

"I got some text messages from my buddies saying, 'Jerome got his first touchdown on a fluke play,'" Felton said. "But I'll take it."

Felton, who said he's never even come close to sniffing the end zone, ran behind Johnson to try and set another block after the catch. It paid off for Felton and his teammates that he continued with the play and was around the ball once Johnson fumbled.

"It's kind of a cheap touchdown," Felton said. "I call it poetic justice. I've had some frustrations here and there but to keep playing hard and when my number is called to do my job."

There were three other Jets defenders trying to pry the football out of his hands, but Felton said that wasn't going to happen.

"When I first came into the league, I didn't think it would take that long for my first touchdown," Felton said.

Even with 45 carries in four seasons, Felton's first touchdown finally occured but in an odd way. Either way, the ball will remain in Felton's possession for good.

"I'm keeping the ball for sure," Felton said."
