Kevin Jepsen has arrived and is excited to be part of a team looking to reach the postseason. He already has allies in the clubhouse in former Angels teammates Torii Hunter and Ervin Santana.

Sure enough, Jepsen's stall has been set up right next to Santana's.

Jepsen throws a fastball, curveball and occasional change up. Twins manager Paul Molitor said he will use Jepsen as a late-inning option to build the bridge to closer Glen Perkins.

"It's exiting to add a pitcher with that type of experience and that type of ability," Molitor said.

Third baseman Trevor Plouffe has returned to the team after enjoying the birth of his first child.

"Not sure how rested he is but hopefully enough to help us," Molitor said.

Byron Buxton took batting practice today and is headed to Fort Myers on Sunday to work his way back to being game ready. Molitor said Buxton's recovery from a sprained thumb have "accelerated" in recent days.

Big night here, as the 1965 team will be honored before the game.
