Jefferson's a go tonight vs. Pistons

Wolves star decides at last second that his tweaked knee is strong enough for him to play

February 17, 2010 at 2:26AM

Al Jefferson literally was a game-time decision tonight at Detroit.

Kurt Rambis was waiting to sign the night's lineup sheet due an hour before game time when assistant Bill Laimbeer approached and told him Jefferson's tight left knee wouldn't keep him from play.

Jefferson determined so after warming up before the game.

He said he injured the left knee -- not his surgically repaired right one -- in Wednesday's loss to Charlotte, the team's last game before the All Star break.

The Wolves' medical staff arranged for him to get treatment on it daily while he spent the All-Star break at home in Mississippi.

"Fourth quarter, I just came down on it wrong,": Jefferson said. "But I've been getting treament. It's better."

Also: Talked to David Kahn before the game and he indicated he has no interest in a Tyrus Thomas and Luol Deng for Al Jefferson proposal apparently made by the Bulls some time ago.
