Twin Cities guitar geeks, rejoice! Jeff Beck has finally booked another show here. He will play the State Theatre on April 17, with tickets going on sale next Friday, Jan. 14, for $78.50, $53.50 and $43.50. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is still touring behind his well-received new album, but reviews from last year's shows have him playing tunes from throughout his career, including stuff from the Yardbirds, Rod Stewart era and the "Wired" and "Blow by Blow" period. Beck previously played with B.B. King at Grand Casino Hinkley in 2003 and on his own at Northrop in 1999.

And some accompanying business news: This concert announcement came from Jam Productions' home office in Chicago -- which was a tip-off that the independent promotions company has shut down its Minneapolis office. Weird but certainly not coincidental timing with the news this week that Mr. Chan Presents is also no more. However, Jam reportedly still plans to remain active in the Twin Cities, where it frequently books shows at the theaters, arenas, Roy Wilkins and First Ave.
