MILLVILLE, Minn. — James Stewart raced to his first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships victory of the season Saturday in the Spring Creek Nationals.

Stewart, the Yoshimura Suzuki rider from Haines City, Fla., won the first 450 class moto and finished third in the second.

"Things just came together today but it was probably the hardest two motos I've ridden since last year," Stewart said. "We're just building for next year so any little bit helps. I want to finish this thing and get a couple more wins to carry the momentum into next season."

Honda Muscle Milk's Trey Canard, from Shawnee, Okla., was second overall after finishing second in each moto. Minnesota rider Ryan Dungey was third. The Red Bull KTM rider from Belle Plaine won the second moto after finishing fifth in the first.

Season points leader Ryan Villopoto, the Monster Energy Kawasaki star from Poulsbo, Wash., was fifth. A five-time event winner this year, he was sixth in the first moto and fourth in the second.

Eli Tomac, the GEICO Honda rider from Cortez, Colo., swept the 250 motos for his fourth victory of the season. He also took the lead in the season standings.
