Jail time for elder-care worker who stole $63KA woman who admitted stealing almost $63,000 from two people she cared for at a South St. Paul assisted-living facility was sentenced Friday to 60 days in jail and five years of probation.

Lisa Marie Blair, 41, of Circle Pines, also was ordered to pay restitution to the victims and fined $300 by Dakota County District Judge Joseph Carter. She faces almost three years in prison if she fails to meet the conditions of her probation.

She pleaded guilty in January to four felony counts of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult. Blair was an employee of the Cerenity Residence when the thefts occurred between March 2009 and November 2010. She took most of the money -- a total of $62,994 -- by writing checks to herself from the victims' accounts. College tuition costs of $2,000 for Blair's child also were charged to one of the victims' credit cards.
