Evening from an empty Mariucci Arena, where the top-ranked Gophers open the 2012-13 season tonight against the Michigan State.

I'm a college newbie, but I'm assuming the line charts are accurate and reflect the lineup, so it appears as if defenseman Jake Parenteau will play fourth-line right wing tonight and defensemen Justin Holl and Blake Thompson are scratched along with forwards Ryan Reilly, Christian Horn and Jared Larson.

Freshmen Mike Reilly and Brady Skjei will make their collegiate debuts. For Michigan State, Minnesota native and Wild prospect John Draeger is paired with Chris Chelios' son, Jake.

The Gophers' lineup looks like this:

No. 7 Kyle Rau- 27 Nick Bjugstad- 26 Christian Isackson

11 Sam Warning- 19-Erik Haula- 24 Zach Budish

16 Nate Condon- 22 Travis Boyd- 17 Seth Ambroz
