Israeli politician and human rights activist Natan Sharansky will speak tonight to members of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, focusing on his work as an advocate for Soviet Jews.
A recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congressional Medal of Honor, Sharansky "represents a generation of people around the world who fought for Soviet Jewry," according to a released statement from the federation. He currently serves as the chairman of the executive of the Jewish Agency for Israel, a federation partner.
Sharansky's speech is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Adath Jeshurun Congregation in Minnestonka.
