Jane Lynch, one of the most amiable actresses in la-la land, was holding court the other night at a Fox party when she suddenly got irked by a loudmouth nearby who was relegating friends with a story about a disastrous Ray Charles story. "What's the deal with that (expletive)?" she said, referring to the booming voice interrupting her interviews.

I knew exactly what the deal was because the loudmouth was me.

About 20 minutes, I sheepishly approached the "Glee" sensation with hat in hand.

"That was you" she said. "But you seem so restrained." Fortunately, the Emmy-deserving star didn't make me run laps around the restaurant.

Guess I was just revved up by my conversations with a number of FOX and FX personalties. Among the highlights: "Simpsons" exec producer Al Jean disparaging a unauthorized "Simpsons" book, fantasy football tips from the cast of "The League," Seth Green celebrating his love of "Star Wars," "Cleveland SHow" voiceover actor Kevin Michael Richardson reminiscing about his shotput expertise, Colin Hanks bemoaning the lack of attention over a great little movie called "The Great Buck Howard" (the only movie he's ever done with dad, Tom), John Walsh spilling details about the latest arrest to come out of "America's Most Wanted" and former "West Wing" staffers Bradley Whitford and Richard Schiff hugging it out.

Tonight: Leno and O'Brien! SHould be a fascinating evening.
