International Falls man dies in Koochiching County crash

A 58-year-old man from International Falls, Minn., died early Friday when his 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck veered off a road in Koochiching County and rolled over in a ditch, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Lonnie Ray Schmidt died at the scene of the 6:35 a.m. crash on Hwy. 217 near County Road 110 in Rainy Lake Unorganized Territory, the patrol said. He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

No other passengers or vehicles were involved.

The patrol continues to investigate the crash.
