Greetings.

Remember back before the Michigan State game, when I said I had a feeling about the offense, how I thought Weber was going to have a big game.

I have that feeling again.

Really. Now, let the rips begin. I know, I know. The Gophers offense hasn't scored a touchdown in two games. I know, I know. Weber and his receivers looked like they were on different planets against South Dakota State and Iowa.

But I like the Gophers' chances tomorrow.

Why?

1. I believe offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch will have a scheme in place that everybody knows very well and is comfortable with. I think the receivers and Weber and/or/ MarQueis Gray will be on the same page more often than not.

2. Speaking of Gray, aren't you fascinated to see how much and where he plays tomorrow. The talk has been that he'll play extensively at wide receiver. I think he could be on the field there to start the game. In any event, more than any other time this season, he and Weber should be on the field at the same time. I think that makes for some interesting possibilities.

3. I think the senior-laden defense is ready go to out with a bang. Defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove has gotten more aggressive as the season went on; witness the blitz package against Iowa. The ISU running game is formidable but containable. ISU quarterback Austen Amaud is capable but inconsistent. He is protected well, but will throw a pick.

That's what I think. How about you?

Meanwhile, Brewster talked today about how healthy his team is, a good sign. He also talked about playing Iowa State in future years. But don't hold your breath on that one, given how set the Gophers schedule is going forward and the fact that the Cyclones already play Iowa every year in the nonconference.

That's about it. Have a good day.
