Highland Park THROUGH THE YEARS

1964-65: Highland Park begins St. Paul City Conference play, finishes 2-18-1.

1975-76: Scots post program-best 19 victories, win only conference title.

1986-87: Final season of Highland Park varsity hockey. Program merged with Central the next season.

2008-09: The comeback begins as Highland Park plays JV-only schedule.

2010-11: They shoot, they score: The Scots dress first varsity roster in 23 years.

When the comeback started

"There was a buzz in the community for our first game, even though it was only a JV game — it was standing-room only. I usually go back for the alumni games and I saw the new locker room at the last one. I'm jealous. Maybe 10 to 20 years from now they'll get hot one year and go to the state tournament. I've got season tickets so I'll be there cheering for them."

— Tom Paulson, sophomore on the Scots' 2008-09 team
