INDIANAPOLIS — The Indy Lights Series will have a new car in 2015 and race with an updated chassis next season.
Andersen Promotions said Monday it will announce the chassis designer within 90 days of proposals submitted by four manufacturers. The process will be overseen by Tony Cotman, who runs NZR Consulting and is the former vice president of competition for IndyCar.
The new car should be ready for testing in the second half of the 2014 season. Andersen Promotions wants new technology on the car so that it becomes a proper stepping stone into IndyCar.
