Pollinator-friendly

Healthy gardening is good for pollinators — and creates beautiful landscapes. Learn how to design and maintain diverse flowering and native plant beds at a Bachman's seminar on "Gardening for Healthy Environments," 6 to 8 p.m. April 26, 6010 Lyndale Av. S., Mpls. Artful flowers

Every spring, Art in Bloom showcases more than 160 floral creations inspired by masterpieces from the Minneapolis Institute of Art's permanent collection. This year's events include Preview Party (tickets start at $200) at 6 p.m. April 26; "Flowers After Hours" (free) hosted by Jason DeRusha, 5:30 to 9 p.m. April 27; Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon presented by the Galleria (tickets $85), 11:30 a.m. April 28; Carnation Appreciation (free) 6 to 9 p.m. April 28; Family Event (free) 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 29. Princess Giorgiana Corsini, an expert in the design and history of Italian Renaissance gardens, will speak on "Tuscan Gardens" (tickets $25) at 10 a.m. April 28. A variety of classes, lectures and demonstrations and free 45-minute docent tours are also scheduled. Art in Bloom is from April 27-30 at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, 2400 3rd Av. S.
