Stressed out from donor fatigue and other symptoms of a long campaign season?

U.S. Sen. Al Franken has just the cure for you, sort of: Give more (to "progressive" candidates). That's the pitch in a message to supporters today on behalf of fellow Democrat Patty Murray, who's in a brawl with Republican Dino Rossi for her Washington State senate seat, one that could decide control of the U.S. Senate. Donor fatigue is apparently one of the many occupational hazards of politics, and Franken has a firm grasp on the symptoms: "Listless, exhausted, glassy-eyed…" Reaching back to his Saturday Night Live past, something he's been doing more lately (witness Saturday's send-up of President Obama's driving-into-a-ditch metaphor), Franken notes: "Studies suggest that one in four donors will experience donor fatigue at some point during their lives--and researchers believe that we are entering a 'peak period' for donor fatigue now." If that's you, here's what the senator prescribes: "Won't you help to fight donor fatigue by donating $10, $25, or $100 to Patty Murray's campaign today?" Let's hope he doesn't announce a cure for drug addiction too...
