North Mankato teenager Shelby Tweten got little face time on Thursday night's "American Idol" segment, but it was enough to confirm that she sang well enough to advance to the next round.

Tweten, a senior at Mankato West High School, "is in group round," her mother, Kerrey Tweten, announced in a Facebook message. "Her group was pretty much drama free."

Viewers who paid attention Thursday also could have spotted Tweten prepping for the group round, where competitors team up in fours or fives and perform together.

The FOX reality talent show is still in the recorded stage on-air as it moves toward live telecasts later this month.

Tweten's audition in Aspen, Colo., which aired last month, included a biographical segment shot in Minnesota about her struggle with bipolar disorder. That revelation has built a legion of supporters from around the world sending her messages of encouragement and understanding on her Twitter account.

On Wednesday's episode, high-energy Reed Grimm of Twin Cities-based The Shoeless Revolution appeared to have won over judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson with "I Got A Golden Ticket."
