The ATV rider who struck a tree and met his death about a mile from his home in a creek on the Iron Range was identified Sunday.
The body of Travis R. Warren, 37, of rural Aurora, Minn., was found about 7 a.m. Saturday, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
Warren's ATV veered off Stepetz Road, went down a steep ditch, hit a tree and came to rest in a creek, the Sheriff's Office said.
A bicyclist passing by noticed the ATV in the water, its motor still running.
Warren lived about a mile from where he crashed.
