After two rounds in the arena, Jennifer Lawrence is ready to come at the Capitol head-on in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," the first of Lionsgate's two part finale of the blockbuster YA franchise.

After surviving the Hunger Games along with Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and then a special 25th anniversary edition of the Games featuring all previous victors,Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen steps into yet more uncharted territory in her latest outing.

In "Mockingjay," hitting theaters Friday, it's all out war now between Donald Sutherland's President Snow's opulent, oppressive ruling class and the 12 Districts he has under his thumb, with Katniss now reluctantly stepping into the role of being the face of the revolution.

Waking up in District 13 at the end of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," Katniss is set to meet a whole new cast of supporting characters, most of whom will be new allies in the fight against Snow's regime.

Joining her faithful best friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth), former mentor Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) and chaperone Effie (Elizabeth Banks), below are the six new faces to the franchise who will be aiding Katniss in her latest adventure.


The character: Alma Coin
The leader of the rebellion and District 13, President Coin isn't shy about her desire to utilize Katniss as a propaganda tool in various videos, not unlike the way the Capitol is utilizing Peeta to further their own cause.
The actor: Julianne Moore
One of the most respected actresses working in Hollywood, Moore is going to have a very good fall/winter thanks to "Mockingjay" and a small indie drama called "Still Alice," which may just lead Moore to her first Oscar win.


The character: Cressida
A member of the rebellion, Cressida is also a talented director and in charge of filming Katniss in her propaganda videos against backdrops of war and tragedy.
The actor: Natalie Dormer
Already well known with genre fans for her role as Margaery Tyrell on HBO's "Game of Thrones," Dormer's resume also include roles on "The Tudors" opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers and on CBS' "Elementary."

The character: Commander Paylor
A squadron leader in the rebellion against the Capitol, Paylor watches over a hospital of wounded men, women and children in a nearly destroyed District 8, where she meets Katniss on one of her filming missions.
The actor: Patina Miller
Already an established stage actress with a Tony to boot, Miller is now making a transition to screen acting. In addition to "Mockingjay," Miller is a series regular on CBS' hit drama "Madame Secretary" with Tea Leoni.

The character: Pollux
A camera man part of Cressida's crew, Pollux is jolly and easygoing, and an Avox. The Capitol had his tongue cut out, rendering him mute for the rest of his days.
The actor: Elden Henson
Already known to audiences for his childhood role as Fulton Reed in the "Might Ducks" Disney franchise, Henson has worked steadily for decades, and is now filming Netflix's "Daredevil" series opposite Charlie Cox. He plays the blind superhero's best friend.

The character: Boggs
The head of security for District 13 who starts out as President Coin's right hand man, Boggs becomes Katniss' personal bodyguard and accompanies her on her dangerous missions, starting with a trip to District 8 to film propaganda for the rebellion.
The actor: Mahershala Ali
Currently best known for his role as the slick and smarmy lobbyist Remy Dalton on Netflix's "House of Cards," his other significant series roles include shows like "The 4400," "Treme" and "Alphas."


The character: Castor
Part of the dynamic duo cameramen alongside his brother Pollux, Castor is part of Cressida's crew who accompanies Katniss on dangerous missions and captures her at her most inspiring for propaganda purposes.
The actor: Wes Chatham
With supporting roles in films like "The Help," "W" and "In the Valley of Elah" under his belt, Chatham will next be seen as part of the crew of Syfy's new space drama "The Expanse."

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" will be released on Friday, Nov 21, 2014.
