Wednesday is Hump Day at the Minnesota Zoo.

A newborn Bactrian camel has its coming out Wednesday, nine days after being born at a healthy 125 pounds.

The baby boy, yet unnamed, is the fifth calf for mom "Sanya" and the 18th for dad "Turk." The calf was kept secluded by the zoo to ensure it was healthy and gaining weight.

He should gain about 2 pounds a day until he reaches anywhere from 1,600 to 1,800 pounds, topping out at 8 feet in height.

The calf will nurse for a year, be independent at 4 and fully mature at 5. Life expectancy in captivity can be up to 20 years.

One hump or two? Bactrian camels have two, storing fat that is converted to water and energy when sustenance is unavailable.
