I just love those cheesy player portraits.
That was a pretty awesome game last night for the Minnesota Twins, who came away with a 7-2 spring victory over the Boston Red Sox.
Carl Pavano pitched five solid innings of two-hit baseball before Matt Guerrier and Pat Neshek provided two more scoreless frames. Jesse Crain and Kyle Waldrop surrendered five hits and two runs with four strikeouts between the two of them to polish off the win.
Denard Span and Orlando Hudson each drove in a pair of runs for the Twins, along with Joe Mauer, Jason Kubel and yes, even Nick Punto. This brings their Spring Training record to 10-8 heading into their 12:05 game against the Florida Marlins this afternoon.
That means there are only 11 more days until the regular season begins when they make their way down to Anaheim to take on the Angels for a four-game series before traveling to the south side of Chicago to face the rival White Sox.
And that can only mean there are just 18 more days until the long-awaited and highly-anticipated Home Opener at Target Field against the Red Sox. Okay, calm down, everyone.
Anyway, we've made it to yet another Wednesday, which means it's time to cruise around the internet in search of some slightly random, yet mildly entertaining baseball reading. We'll start out with some Twins links and wander around from there.
Enjoy!
